As Avina headed into the distance, Lucy and Kara returned to the Elemental Tower safely under the Elemental Guards’ protection.
Lin Ke welcomed their return. “Good job.”
“No, we don’t deserve the credit. Avina and Dra were the ones who did something.”
Lucy and Kara felt ashamed of taking credit and instead pushed it to Dra and Avina.
Lin Ke smiled. “You guys helped a lot out there. Although I’ve got nothing good on me right now, just let me know what you want in the future when I’m rich. Don’t be shy about it.”
Since he was still developing the place and was incredibly poor, he had to be careful not to overeat noodles at every meal. Furthermore, he did not even dare to consume any vegetables and would only eat stiff dried meat. It was so unbearable to his palate that he was on the verge of going crazy.
Hence, he really could not give out anything as a reward.
“We won’t be shy when the time comes.” Lucy and Kara understood the situation very well as they grinned.
The lot were waiting for Dra and Avina’s return.
Before everything came to an end, Lin Ke would not let go of his worry, nor would he just swallow it down.
Ten minutes later, Lin Ke stared excitedly as Dra and Avina returned. She had a torch in her hand and there were some ten people following her.
Humans!
Lin Ke squinted. ‘Am I going to make contact with the humans of this world now?’
Perhaps the incident earlier was related to them. What should he do now?
There were at least a few minutes more before they entered the Elemental Tower. Lin Ke immediately asked for Lucy and Kara’s opinion, but Lucy rolled her eyes at him. “Don’t meet them if you don’t want to. You’re our Lord, let us handle the rest.”
Lucy pushed Lin Ke to Dormitory’s first floor. Then, she adjusted her shirt and whispered something into Kara’s ears before bringing a few Elemental Guards to the entrance of the tower.
Lin Ke sat on the Dormitory’s first floor quietly as he watched the situation unfold.
Tower Sight was his eyes. Everything that happened within the Elemental Tower would not be able to escape him.
The few Elemental Guards took out some chairs and tables from the Dormitory’s ground floor, placing them at the center of the tower and made it into a living room.
They swiftly set the place up before Dra and the rest stepped foot into the Elemental Tower.
The instant Dra and the rest entered the tower, a few humans who were in the same attire paused for a moment. A man of an above-average height walked over while the rest stood outside of the tower.
It seemed that they did not plan to enter the tower together.
This was a smart decision. Since they were facing an unknown power, it would not be wise for them to gather at one spot to prevent the lot of them from being trapped by the opponent.
These humans sent one representative into the tower. Not only would this show their sincerity, but it would also allow those outside a chance to escape if there was any danger. They could gather up some manpower in the future to take revenge.
Meanwhile from Lin Ke’s side, even though Dra looked very generous as she brought them here, she had enough confidence that with the help from the rest in the tower, they could capture everyone if they bore any ill intention.
Hence, it was a natural occurrence that both would take precautions against each other.
Lucy stood at the very front while Kara was just one step behind her. The latter arched her body down as she bowed; as if she did not dare to stand firmly in front of Lucy.
The remaining Elemental Guards were protecting them. The lot was greeted with such a scene the instant they set foot in the Elemental Tower.
Dra was slightly astonished but she soon lowered her head.
Her intelligence was incredibly high. All it took was a glance to understand the situation. Avina was not stupid as well, her suspicion raised the instant she realized Lin Ke was not around. Seeing Dra did not utter a single word, she decided to follow her lead and did the same thing as well.
Then, the unknown man that entered the tower with them walked towards Lucy and bowed down as a sign of respect for their first meeting. “It’s an honor to meet the Lord, I’m the captain of Feathered Haw Knight Squad’s sixth squadron, Anthony Darrens.”
“Pleased to meet you. You can address me as Lucy.”
Lucy gave a soft, elegant smile at him as she greeted him for the very first time. Although the two parties were not familiar with each other’s common courtesy, they seemed to ignore it as they started conversing happily.
Lin Ke blinked as he thought something was wrong with his hearing.
He could understand what the other party was saying and Lucy seemed to understand his language as well.
‘What’s the situation? Is the language universal?’
However as Lin Ke took a closer look, he found out that things were not as he thought. The movement of the lips and the sound created did not seem to synchronize. It was very highly likely that the other party was speaking in his own language. However, due to some reason, he had made his words understandable to the rest of them.
Lin Ke soon let go of this question as he saw the people outside were observing his Elemental Tower. Some of them even looked quite familiar and they were probably the ones that ambushed him a few days ago.
Inside the tower, Anthony was invited to his seat. Kara poured everyone a cup of hot water from the porcelain that Lin Ke bought.
“What an exquisite porcelain.” Anthony praised. “I’m sure one wouldn’t be able to find this in any noble household within the area.”
Although Anthony praised the porcelain, he was not used to drinking warm water. It was actually the opposite. A cup of cold water would suit him more and it would be even better if it was the mineral water obtained from the mountains.
Both sides started conversing and Lin Ke was soon bored of it. He felt that it was smart of him to not meet the other party.
The people outside the Elemental Tower walked around the tower several times. Lin Ke was rather unhappy that they were so cautious of him, hence he secretly ordered a few Elemental Guards to act as if they were on a patrol.
The men started behaving themselves when they saw a few Elemental Guards coming out. They stood by the entrance as if they were guarding the place.
Lin Ke found this world rather interesting. These people were not even shocked when they saw an Elemental Guard. This showed that this world had beings similar to his own Elemental Guards as well.
It was raining cats and dogs outside and yet these people seemed totally unfazed.
Naturally, there was nothing to be fazed about. Lin Ke watched as the rain poured, their bodies were shrouded with a faint glowing membrane that was a few centimeters thick. They were not drenched at all as the water was repelled away.
“Interesting.” Lin Ke looked at his own Elemental Guards. The faint glow around their bodies had dimmed down as if they were not used to the weather here.
Water droplets would not harm the Elemental Guards in any way. Perhaps they just did not like it.
Lin Ke stopped the visuals from outside. The conversation in the tower had entered the main topic.
