The Elemental Tower - Chapter 59
Chapter 59: Have Dinner? Or Have…
Lin Ke strolled leisurely within the Tower. He felt like he was stuck in there for many days but never set foot outside ever since the Tower was completed.
It was far too dangerous out there. Lin Ke could not put himself in that situation.
‘The rich do not sit under the eaves[1],’ Lin Ke was familiar with this adage.
A single werewolf would have posed a huge threat to Lin Ke.
“I want to go out so badly!”
Lin Ke circled around a few times out of boredom. He was able to restrain his temptation to head outside.
Although his capability was considered decent now due to his level up and Equipment upgrades, he would still be unable to defend himself if he had met any enemies with levels akin to Dra’s.
Among the werewolves that roamed out there, such high-level werewolves were not scarce in number at all.
So, he had better not get himself in trouble out there and stay obediently within the Elemental Tower!
If he wanted to see what was out there, he could just see through the Tower Sight of the Elemental Tower. After all, even if he had gone out, he could only travel so far before he needed to return.
Lin Ke sighed but did not end up exploring the outside world using the Tower Sight.
He saw the same scenery countless times and could recall all of its details with his eyes closed, thus it was not meaningful to see it again.
“Alice!”
Lin Ke called out. Although Alice had not shown herself since breakfast, Lin Ke believed she would definitely appear once he called for her.
Indeed, within a few seconds, Lin Ke heard her gentle voice from behind. “Master, do you need me to attend to a matter?”
Lin Ke turned around and saw Alice standing on his right side. She was still charmingly wearing the same set of a housemaid uniform.
“Yes, just for a small thing.”
He scratched his head as he struggled to find the right word to describe his request.
Lin Ke wanted to tell Alice that he was too bored and to ask her if there was anything fun to play with.
The others were out there battling for their collective future but Lin Ke was looking for games to play with.
Would it be a good idea to make such a shameful request bluntly?
Lin Ke was stuck for words.
Alice was not boggled at all. She was fully engrossed in taking her next instruction and preparing herself to complete it immediately.
However, she still had not received any instructions even after waiting for a while. Alice looked at Lin Ke puzzlingly and blinked.
Lin Ke blinked too, and she blinked again.
His eyes were… sore now. He rubbed his eyes and sighed. Lin Ke switched the topic of conversation and asked, “What’ve you been doing throughout this period? Aren’t you bored that you’re always stuck in this Tower?”
“Not at all.” Alice smiled, she was still soft-spoken. “I realized that your bed didn’t even have any blankets on it. Fortunately, my skirt has multiple layers of materials, so I cut out a part of it and was making you a blanket, Master.”
“Err…” Lin Ke gestured. “There’s really no need for that, it’s not even cold here.”
“It’s a matter of decency.” Alice insisted. “We can’t behave like the beastmen who could just fall asleep on any rocks and logs. It’s better if you have a bed and a blanket.”
Lin Ke sighed, he did not persist on rejecting her gift.
She had already torn a part of her clothes away, could it still be repaired though? It could probably be stitched back, but there was no point in doing that.
Since Alice was willing to do so, so be it. Lin Ke soon stopped minding about it.
He started to beat around the bush and asked, “Alice, now that we don’t have much to do in Tower, what do you like doing when you’re bored?”
Lin Ke leaned against the Tower wall and looked at Alice.
“I mostly don’t feel too bored.” Alice looked down and contemplated for a moment, touching her lips with her fair-skinned finger. “Usually, I would practice my combat abilities or conduct battle simulations in my mind. Time always flies when I’m doing these.”
“Practice your combat abilities?” Lin Ke asked curiously, “Why have I never seen you practicing before?”
Alice grinned. “Master, I’m actually practicing right now.”
She extended both her hands in front of Lin Ke. A beam of silver light immediately flashed across and appeared on Alice’s palms.
It was a small dagger. The dagger stopped for a brief moment before it vanished again.
Alice flipped her hands around. The dagger was now seen on the back of her hands.
The dagger vanished again and this time, reappeared on her palms. Its disappearance and reappearance kept repeating between Alice’s palms and the back of her hands.
“What’s that?” Lin Ke asked shockingly. He stared for another few moments before he asked puzzlingly, “Spatial shifting?”
“It’s spatial energy, an ability that I can control.” Alice smiled. She grabbed the dagger and suddenly flung it toward a wall nearby.
A silver beam flashed across Lin Ke’s eyes and it instantly erupted into multiple arrays of lights, as though a radiating silver flower had bloomed!
“Tok! Tok! Tok!” A series of hammering sounds reverberated from the wall as if there were tens of daggers simultaneously penetrating into its surface. Then the arrays of light disappeared. Lin Ke examined the wall and noticed that there were multiple crevices on the wall. At that time, the dagger had already reappeared within Alice’s grasp.
“This is brilliant!” Lin Ke commended. He related this scene to the one he witnessed in the arena, where Alice’s projection had used the same technique to defeat all the enemies.
Obviously, in reality, Alice was not limited by the need to accumulate rage before she could unleash her skills. Instead, she could use it anytime to defeat her enemies.
As Lin Ke just finished praising Alice, she brought back an old topic of the conversation, “Master, did you ask me whether I was bored because you’re trapped here with nothing to do? Then, through me, you thought you could find out if there’s anything that you can do to kill time?”
Lin Ke instantly blushed.
He was exposed by Alice. Somehow, he felt that his hope of finding something fun was shattered.
“Looks like Master’s really bored.” Alice smiled. There was no intention of ridiculing Lin Ke. Instead, with her scarlet-red cheeks, she winked at Lin Ke. “Then, there’s… actually something fun in here.”
Alice placed her finger on her collarbone and it gradually slid down from there, passing by her clothes buttons reaching her cleavage. It stopped there for a moment before it continued traveling down her body.
Her finger gently moved through the surface of her clothes, leaving an outline in its path.
It continued sliding down, passing by her belly and traveling even further below.
Lin Ke was swallowing his saliva at this point.
His mind traveled back in time to a scene he once watched on television.
In there, a pretty woman had struck a seductive pose. “Do you want to have dinner, or… do you prefer to have me instead?”
Have me? Have me? Have me?
That was the only question echoing through Lin Ke’s mind.
Should he?
