The Former Wife of Invisible Wealthy Man - Chapter 58.2
Chapter 58: The Piano’s Ghost (3)
Bonus chapter
Chen Shu grunted. “I just got it from the convenience store.”
Because of the haunted rumors in the west district, the residents and businesses here had moved. The only convenience store that was still open was in the street next door since the owner’s children went to a nearby school.
Ye Sui took Chen Shu’s porridge and took a mouthful. The warm rice congee went to her stomach, accompanied by the tangy smell of rice. The whole car was quiet, leaving only the sound of her sipping porridge.
Chen Shu sat there without saying a word. As long as he saw Ye Sui happy, he was satisfied.
Ye Sui drank for a while and felt as if she had forgotten something. She stopped and whispered, “Chen Shu, it was very kind of you.”
Hearing her gentle words, Chen Shu was somewhat stunned. He lowered his eyes, curved his lips, and smiled. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Ye Sui’s side face. Her little face was hidden in the dense white vapors and was extremely delicate.
The light on the roof of the car was on, and the brilliance was all over the vehicle. Moreover, there was a pleasant smell from the rice congee. Chen Shu, who was once lonely, was pulled into the fireworks by Ye Sui little by little, and truly felt the warmth of life.
It was dark, and the western villa in this area was tranquil. Adding the fact that all the people beside Xi Zhao had moved away, only his house was currently lit.
It was dark everywhere except for street lamps.
It was windy in the autumn night, and the temperature dropped faster than usual. The reporters waiting outside suddenly felt chilly. They had been sitting here for several days, but there was no such situation a few days ago. Yet, tonight’s weather was bizarre.
Also, not knowing when it started, the reporters stopped talking, making the area eerily silent with occasional whistles in the distance.
“Don’t you think it’s strange?” One of the reporters couldn’t help asking questions.
No one answered, and the rest looked at each other. “Didn’t you say this place is haunted? Is that rumor true?”
As soon as the words were finished, a reporter stood up and made an excuse to withdraw. After that, most of them also left one after another.
After all, it was better to believe in ghosts than not. They were here for the news, not death.
There were several reporters who wanted to stick to the end. However, because of the sudden rush of strong winds, they also hurriedly carried their equipment away.
It was not long after that the reporters dispersed cleanly, giving Ye Sui and Chen Shu a chance.
Ye Sui was sitting in the car, and the radio had just announced the weather forecast.
“Due to the cold air, there will be a noticeable drop in temperature at night. Strong winds and rain are prone to occur in the cooling process. Please keep warm…”
The strong wind and cooling just now were normal weather changes. However, those reporters were like frightened birds, scared away due to a small change in temperature.
A few gusts of wind, dark streets and chilly temperature abruptly turned the scene into a horror film’s. And since it was cold, it was time to wear more clothes.
Ye Sui and Chen Shu calmly listened to the weather forecast and saw the reporters in the distance running away like frightened birds.
This time, Chen Shu accompanied Ye Sui, who rang the doorbell again.
Xi Zhao opened the door. As soon as he saw Ye Sui, he frowned and wanted to close the door.
Before he could do so, though, Ye Sui immediately opened her mouth and stated her purpose. “I want to talk to you about your wife.”
As soon as Xi Zhao heard something about his wife, he stopped, but the next second, he tried to close the door again.
“Mr. Xi, have you ever thought about your wife staying in this house?”
Xi Zhao was stunned. He stopped closing the door and pulled it open instead, scrutinizing the standing Ye Sui and Chen Shu.
“Really, can you prove it to me?”
The words had just fallen when the piano that nobody played in the living room suddenly rang, a melodious tune sounding in the silent night.
The sound of the piano went through the empty living room and reached the ears of the people present. It was very strange.
