The Healer Is Too Strong - Chapter 5
The car began to move quickly as soon as Seo Jinwoo entered. After some time, the car arrived in a post office building’s parking lot.
“Where am I?”
“Just a moment. We look forward to your cooperation.”
He followed the man who didn’t respond, and soon a small meeting room appeared. A man in his forties sat and waited in the room.
“First, Mr. Seo Jinwoo, please accept my apologies for this unexpected inconvenience. Please have a seat.”
“I’m not sure what’s going on, but what can I do if I’m dragged around like this?”
“I work for the National Intelligence Service. Just call me Chief Yoo.”
Chief Yoo, who supported his chin with his interlocked hands, fixed his gaze on Seo Jinwoo.
“Seo Jinwoo, a member of Unity. You were raised in an orphanage and quit being a gang member. And this time, you have awakened. Is that right?”
“What is this? Are you interrogating me?”
“I’m just asking you to confirm.”
“Yes, that’s right. But, what’s going on?”
This man already knows his history and personal information.
There are also players in the military or government, but the country usually does not intervene with any others. So, since the monsters appeared, only researchers are still fussing around and analyzing the Tower’s cause.
‘There will be no profit then.’
“I watched a video on the internet. It’s already spread very far.”
“This is a video shared without my permission. It’s humiliating.”
“Yes, I thought so. You don’t have to be concerned because we’ll take care of them.”
Life must be difficult. Seo Jinwoo felt relieved since they seemed to be punished in their own way.
“You keep changing the subject. What’s going on?”
“Before I tell you, I wonder how Mr. Seo Jinwoo awakened to a healer position?”
‘I don’t know either. You b*stard.’
“The number of players in the healer position itself is small, and it is rare for them to attack a floor, so there is not much information.”
“Do you need information? There must be quite a few healer positions already.”
“We don’t need player information. I have already received a lot of help from the religious community.”
‘They won’t be able to force them. Religious people from all across the world will rise up if they do.’
What if Intelligence kidnaps a priest and questions him? It seemed clear that the government would fall apart.
“Mr. Seo Jinwoo is a special case. A healer who was formerly a gangster… These exceptions may exist, but this is a paradigm-altering issue in and of itself.”
“Then why did you bring me here?”
“I’d like to ask you a few questions and have a word with you.”
Seo Jinwoo stared at Chief Yoo without saying a word. In silence, Chief Yoo leaned against the chair, touching his chin. Chief Yoo remained silent for a long time, rubbing his chin, and finally spoke out.
“Do you plan to continue attacking floors, Mr. Seo Jinwoo?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Until the end?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Then allow me to ask you a question. Mr. Seo Jinwoo is coveted by the United States and some European countries.”
‘America? Europe?’
“The video was uploaded last night, and it immediately spread around the world. Seo Jin-woo showed a new method for floor cleaning. It is also quite clean.”
Healers are rarely seen fighting in battle. To attack a floor, drag and kill a few monsters, use a recovery potion, and so on before moving on. That was the standard method of floor attacks.
‘It would be surprising to promote healers on a big scale at this point in time.’
As the tank’s level rises and the supporter’s strength grows, they may advance in large numbers without the need for a healer. But, even though it has just been a year since awakening, there have been no such efforts or success stories.
‘It’s all over when you die, so not many people want to risk their lives.’
There are the occasional resurrection items and scrolls, but these demand high prices and are rarely available for purchase in the first place.
“Then, you mean I should be careful about being kidnapped?”
“Well… It seems inappropriate for us to remind Mr. Seo Jinwoo about your view of the country or your patriotism. A scouting offer could come… I just want you to stay in Korea for a long time.”
‘After all, you came here to catch me and not let me go to another country.’
“I have no intention of leaving.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I can’t understand the language, and I won’t have kimchi, so why go abroad to suffer?
‘I won’t go until I kill those b*stards.’
After killing? Knowing they’re dead will make my life much better.
“I am glad that Mr. Seo Jinwoo is clear about this special situation.”
“Well then, I will ask you a favor.”
“What…?”
‘I’m the best. That’s great.’
“You must listen to me to raise my patriotism and prevent my emigration.”
“Yes…?”
“Please give me an item in the warehouse of the Player Management Bureau.”
“Huh? What?”
“There must be a weapon known as the Broken Sword, which has no abilities in its pure white blade. Please give it to me as a token of your trust.”
A broken sword, if he takes action, will become a perfect weapon. This sword is one of Ha Jaehak’s favorites, yet he never revealed any details about it.
‘However, it’s known as crazily overpowered.’
Ha Jaehak becomes at least twice more powerful than the others after receiving the sword.
“Broken Sword? Why do you need it? No, how did you know it was there?”
Chief Yoo’s voice grew cold.
“The thing is, I used to be a gangster, so info like that floats around… It’s not supposed to be used as a weapon. It must be a sword with no abilities anyway. The mission my sponsor gave me was to save it.”
“Sponsor… Are you talking about your mission?”
“Yes.”
“Please wait.”
With his head tilted, Chief Yoo made a call and went out somewhere.
‘After all, only a few people know what kind of mission the Agents of Compassion and Sacrifice usually give.’
After a while, Chief Yoo finished the call, came back in, and said, “There’s an item like that. By the way, it’s more like an ornament than a weapon…?”
“I know. Maybe it’s related to the sponsor?”
Chief Yoo agonized for a while before he finally responded while sitting in his chair, “Let me write up the report for now. Well, if it doesn’t have much ability, I can give it to you as a token of trust.”
‘It looks like that, but of course, they’ll give it to me.’
“Thank you. Can I go now?”
“Yes, this is my business card. I’ll contact you at this number from now on, so you can pick it up.”
Seo Jinwoo left the post office building, and he called Grumpy Bear, but the call didn’t go through. Seo Jinwoo left a text message to Grumpy Bear, and he went to the building where the Legend Guild is located in Gangnam.
‘As time goes on, the minimum number of admission for a floor increases. I need a guild.’
The video has already spread, and his healer position has been revealed to the world. The strategy of targeting a floor with a minimum number of people and covering their mouths no longer works.
‘That’s rather good. My range of movements has increased.’
Legend Guild.
It is a guild that exerts the third-largest influence in the future.
In first place is the Unity Guild and second place is the Hana Guild, which will make up the three largest guilds in Korea.
‘We are united anyway, and we are one body.’
Ha Jaehak, the leader of the Unity Guild, created the Hana Guild and helped it in the dark.
Although seemingly competitive, the two guilds’ high-ranking officials are pretty much united under Ha Jaehak.
‘Legend is not motivated.’
The second position is trying to overtake the top spot, while the third place is busy laddering down. Choi Joongil, the Legend Guild’s leader, and Seo Jinwoo sat across from each other at the meeting table.
“You want to be in the guild?”
“Yes, it’s me and my younger brother in the tanker position, two in total.”
“Tanker and Healer? Why don’t you go to Hana or Unity?” Choi Joongil questioned.
Tankers are low in number in every guild, and Healers have never joined any of them.
“It’s already a popular guild. We want to be treated with good performance in the growing Legend Guild.”
“Really? Hmm… Of course, you are welcome… You don’t mind if you take a guild membership test, do you?”
“Of course.”
“I saw the video on the internet. But, just to be sure, I’ll film a video of the subscription test procedure.”
Choi Joongil tried to keep the smile from spreading across his mouth.
‘I can’t believe I had such a wonderful dream the night before…’
What if a tanker and a healer both join the guild at the same time? Even if you hold on to your legs, this is a difficult achievement to achieve.
“It’s all right. What are the contract’s terms?”
“You do know that we usually give around 500 million a year, right?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s a special position, so we’re trying to take care of it a little more, but first, we negotiate after the signup test.”
“That’s great.”
After moving to a Tower with two Hana guild members, Seo Jinwoo reviewed the floor information.
[3rd Floor]
– Forest of Bones
– Type: Subjugation
– Goal: Defeat all skeletons!
– Minimum entry: 1 person
– Maximum entry: 3 people
‘These filthy b*stards, I must tear them to death.’
The floor he will test in for entry was right there: the place he was killed.
The two guild members who entered the floor were waiting for Seo Jin-woo with cameras on their chests.
“We’ve seen the video. You were amazing.”
“Are you an excommunicated priest? My mom goes to church too….”
After putting a shield on a wild-talking guild member, he spoke bluntly.
“Hey, do you know where the skeletons are coming from?”
“Yes… Yes? I know it well. We’re already level nine.”
“Then run.”
The guild member, stunned by Seo Jinwoo’s words, looked puzzled.
“Huh? What do you mean ‘run’…?”
“You said you saw the video, so go and get all the monsters. Bring them one by one if you must.”
“No, but….”
‘Ugh, really.’
With a small sigh, Seo Jinwoo put a protective shield on himself and suddenly started running.
“Uh, huh? Mr. Seo Jinwoo! Wait!”
“Wait. I’ll be right back.”
While the two guild members were restless and perplexed, Seo Jinwoo, who had been shooting here and there in the forest, ran to the guild members and shouted.
“Back to the big tree! Get ready!”
Behind Seo Jinwoo, a skeleton of white bones chased after him with its weapons.
Groaaar
Kiiik kiiik.
In an instant, the forest was filled with skeletons. There seemed to be about 40.
“Oh, my God! What is this!”
“Tree! Face your back to the tree!”
To not be caught from behind, you have to fight with your back against the wall. Seo Jin-woo passed through the two and quickly climbed up the big tree.
“Come on, support.”
“Ugh, what! Why did you climb up on your own?”
“Ah, I am a healer.”
Both are close supporter positions.
One could grant protection while the others could induce further damage.
Puck.
Crunch.
Skeletons exploded in one shot when a guild member swung with a weapon.
“Huh? What’s this? Why… all at once?”
“Look, isn’t it great? Fight quickly.”
Seo Jinwoo’s voice echoed from above in the tree. The guild members who received a shield were not injured thanks to the bluish membrane even if the skeleton’s attack hit. The two guild members understood the situation and started breaking apart the skeletons with excitement.
“Wow, is this a good way to relieve stress?”
“What is this… It’s like playing a game.”
A few minutes was all that was needed to re-up the shield once and heal the wounded guild members. The skeletons quickly disappeared.
“Oh my, it’s so easy to be in a party with a healer.”
“That man is a God. God.”
All the skeletons disappeared, and when Seo Jinwoo, who was relaxing while enjoying the scenery from the tree, came down to the ground, a clear message was displayed.
[Floor Clear]
– Achieve the goal
– Clear ranking has been updated.
[The Agent of Compassion and Sacrifice is satisfied to see you.]
‘Should I bring something like candy or coffee next time?’
While Seo Jinwoo was worried, the two guild members trembled with smiles on their faces.
“Mr. Seo Jinwoo. It really opened up.”
“You are wonderful, Priest. Ah… Amen!”
Perhaps it is a strange misunderstanding, one of them is making a sign of the cross.
‘Anyway, here’s the foundation for power abuse.’
