At this moment, Hutton let out a few soft grunts and opened his eyes in a daze.
He was dazed for a moment before he remembered what happened. Tears fell from his eyes. He then rubbed away the thick clot of blood under his nose gently with his hand.
He cried as he rubbed the blood off. He did not dare to speak.
Hamon sat on the ground, dispirited. He felt both sorry and regret when he saw his son’s pathetic state.
Su Ye walked toward Hutton slowly. Hutton squirmed in shock. He was like a pangolin that was under attack.
Su Ye looked toward Hamon and said, “Everyone is the son of their father. But I only understood that after I met Hutton.”

Hamon froze for a moment before he understood what Su Ye meant.
Kaerton pointed to Su Ye and told Hark, “Look at that, that mouth of Su Ye’s. He can infuriate someone to death.”
Su Ye suddenly reached out toward Hutton. With the flick of his finger, Hutton’s belt became loose and floated slowly into the air.
Everyone present opened their eyes wide as they stared at the belt that was suspended in midair. They then turned to look at Su Ye.
There was a leaky voice coming from Hutton’s throat. His eyes were filled with fear.
How could Su Ye be a Mage Apprentice!
How could that be!
It was only now that he understood why Su Ye was not afraid to follow him into the carriage. If Su Ye had showed off his identity as a Mage Apprentice, he would not have dared to take action against him even if he had nerves of steel.
Hutton was overcome with despair.
Senat looked at his old friend, Hamon. He almost shattered his teeth clenching his jaw. He wanted to slice open Hamon’s throat.
He had only stepped forward because Hamon and Hutton told him that Su Ye was a poor student who would never make it as a mage.
Now, it seemed like Su Ye was not just a Mage Apprentice, but a Mage Apprentice in his second year at the Plato Academy. While this was not an impressive feat in the context of the world, the status of a genius like this was not lower than a Bronze Warrior in the city of Athens.
Senat would rather offend ten ordinary mages than a Mage Apprentice from the Plato Academy.
Hamon’s hand trembled uncontrollably. No matter how rich or knowledgeable he was, he was still an ordinary man. Now that he had personally witnessed Su Ye using a spell, his already crippled psychological defenses had completely crumbled.
Hamon slipped into insanity. He charged toward Hutton and flailed his fists. He rained his fists down on Hutton manically.
“You little bastard. You were going to exterminate the family!”
“You’re lucky he is not injured! If he was injured here, then I would be exiled! You dared to humiliate a mage! Who gave you the gall! Who gave you the gall!”
“Little bastard! I nearly got killed by you…”
Hamon had completely forgotten that he was a father. He seemed more like an avenger. His fists were not enough. He even kicked Hutton.
Hutton was already heavily injured. He fainted after being hit a few times.
Hark looked at the belt that was suspended in the air and looked down in deliberation. Would I be able to get my magic short sword back?
1
Kaerton looked at Su Ye and suddenly felt as though Su Ye had been reincarnated even though only two days had passed. He couldn’t seem to understand the person before him.
A Mage Apprentice in their second year, and just two days after school had started. He would be seen as exceptional even in the Plato Academy where geniuses gathered.
Su Ye retracted his magic and walked to the door. He said, “Hamon said that he would not make it out of this door if I didn’t give him a full cup of blood. Let them stay here for the night since that is the case.” He walked out after he finished his sentence.
“No problem.” Kaerton stood up.
Senat bowed and lowered his head in a hurry, “Mister Kaerton, Mister Su Ye, Mister Hark, don’t worry. I’ll keep an eye on them.
Kaerton shot Hark a look and signaled for him to deal with the loose ends. He then followed Su Ye out of the room.
Many guests greeted Kaerton along the way. Kaerton mostly nodded in acknowledgment. He only stopped to say that he was sending someone off and promised to chat with them later to a minority of guests.
People who dined at the Dolphin River were either rich or had a high status. They immediately turned their attention to Su Ye. They were curious as to who could make Kaerton send him off personally.
Su Ye did not recognize anyone and walked directly to the door.
“You’re not going to stay for dinner?” Kaerton said as he stood by the door.
“I’ve had two meals,” Su Ye replied.
Kaerton nodded and said, “The food at the academy’s cafeteria is comparable to mine, except that it tastes a little bit worse. Though, how did you suddenly advance to become a Mage Apprentice? According to my knowledge, advancing to the level of Mage Apprentice is far more difficult than advancing to the level of Warrior Apprentice.”
“I might have been a little luckier,” Su Ye said.
“Those who accomplished things often liked to use luck to hide their efforts to appear humble. Oh yes, the 100 Gold Eagles was not a loan, they now completely belong to you. Count that as my investment,” Kaerton smiled and said.
Su Ye was about to thank Kaerton when he asked suddenly, “When did you make that decision?”
“The day when Hark returned and told me what happened at the Blunt Knife Bar,” Kaerton said.
Su Ye thought for a moment, then smiled. “So that is the case. You now have the friendship of a mage.”
“You mean that I did not have it before?” Kaerton did not know whether to laugh or to cry.
The two chatted by the door for a moment. Kaerton arranged for a carriage to send Su Ye off.
Kaerton’s smile disappeared as he saw the carriage disappear into the distance. He walked into the restaurant and recovered his smile. He disregarded the other guests and walked back into that room.
Hutton’s two teen followers were kneeling on the ground. Hutton was covered in blood, unconscious.
Hamon was tired from hitting Hutton and was panting on a chair.
1
Senat had completely taken up the role of a supervisor and was incredibly cooperative in monitoring the rest of the people.
Hark stood by the door, motionless.
Kaerton’s smile disappeared once again when he walked in through the door.
He sat on a chair and stared at Hamon.
Hamon’s scalp turned numb when he felt Kaerton’s ice-cold gaze. He hurried, “Mister Kaerton, I did not know that Su Ye was your friend. If I knew, I would have definitely gotten the little bastard Hutton to admit his mistakes.”
“If your son is a little bastard, then what does that make you?” Kaerton asked with a sinister expression.
“I am a huge bastard!” Hamon’s tone was surprisingly straightforward.
Kaerton’s expression relaxed as he looked at Hamon humiliating himself.
“How are we going to deal with this matter?” Kaerton asked.
Hamon said in a hurry, “Don’t worry, I’ll bring Hutton to Su Ye’s house after we get out of this room to kowtow and admit his mistakes. He will definitely make Mister Su Ye satisfied.”
“He will be satisfied, but what about me?”
Hamon almost cried when he heard this. He did not know what business Kaerton had with this matter. He said, “Don’t worry, I will definitely pay you for dirtying your room. I’ll pay ten times the value of the things we broke.”
“You made Su Ye break my heart!” Kaerton said.
1
“What?” Hamon was confused. He did not know what that had to do with him.
The faint smile on Hark’s lips left as quickly as it came.
Kaerton said, “Su Ye said that you have a greater foresight than me. I am very sad!”
“I truly do not know what that means,” Hamon said with a nasal voice, thinking that Kaerton was finding an excuse to mess with him.
Kaerton let out a low grunt. “I invested 100 Gold Eagles into him two days ago, yet you dared to take out 200 Gold Eagles as an investment!”
